Stonebwoy’s Team Explains Absence from Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming Concert
Stonebwoy’s PR head, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has clarified that the artist’s absence from Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming concert was a strategic act of support, not rivalry. She revealed that Stonebwoy’s team deliberately postponed the BHIM Festival announcement to ensure Sarkodie received full media attention before and after his concert. Vida emphasized that their actions reflected respect and professionalism, dismissing claims that Stonebwoy intentionally avoided the event.
The Head of Public Relations for Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has clarified why award-winning Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy was not visibly present or directly involved in Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming concert, held on September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The highly publicized event featured top Ghanaian acts such as Shatta Wale and Efya, drawing thousands of fans both at the venue and online. However, Stonebwoy’s absence did not go unnoticed, sparking social media speculation that he had deliberately refused to support the show.
In an interview with Peace FM, Vida dismissed the rumors, explaining that Stonebwoy’s team made a conscious and strategic decision to support Sarkodie behind the scenes. According to her, the team deliberately postponed key promotional activities for Stonebwoy’s upcoming BHIM Festival, originally scheduled for announcement on September 26, just a day before Sarkodie’s event.
> “There were sacrifices we made as Stonebwoy’s team because of Sarkodie’s concert,” Vida revealed. “We had planned to officially announce the BHIM Festival on September 26, but because Sarkodie’s show was on the 27th, we decided to hold on. We wanted him to get all the media attention and publicity he deserved.”
Vida further noted that even after the concert, the team continued to delay their announcement to allow Sarkodie’s event to dominate post-show discussions.
> “When Sarkodie finished his show, we were supposed to make our official announcement, but we held on again because we felt he should still enjoy the attention. Post-event conversations and analysis are also important, so we decided to wait for him to get that mileage before announcing the BHIM Festival,” she added.
She also expressed disappointment over the criticism aimed at Stonebwoy, emphasizing that his camp has always supported fellow artists.
> “We have everyone at heart because in this ecosystem, you can’t just play Stonebwoy’s songs from start to finish. You have to let others have their moments too,” she explained.
Vida concluded that the team’s decisions were rooted in professionalism, mutual respect, and a desire to promote unity and growth within Ghana’s en
tertainment industry.
