2025 BUDGET: HOLLOW FILLED WITH AMBITION FINANCE MINISTER SOLD TO GHANAIANS- MINORITY LEADER DESCRIBES

The 2025 budget statement debate officially concluded yesterday March 25, 2025 following remarks from both Majority and Minority leaders.
Beginning the leaders, minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin described the 2025 budget statement as 'hollow' filled with ambition finance minister sold to Ghanaians. He said govt shouldn't discredit the successes of erstwhile administration if it has nothing to offer.
According to the Efutu constituency lawmaker, the NDC govt inherited an economy growing at 5.7% in 2024. Agriculture grew by 2.8% while services grew by 5.9%. He continued the erstwhile NPP government made an effort to sustain the economic growth.
Minority leader in Ghana's parliament further described the budget as 'azaa' budget.
He alleges that government today, the NDC are only interested in propaganda politics and are in government with no clear plans for the fisher folk; no clear plans for job creation. All they know is to persecute.
"This government has also proven to be indecisive. In swearing in the last deputy ministers, the President promised to bring a list for the 4 left in his ministerial appointments yet we continue to wait creating uneasiness among NDC MPs." - Alexander Afenyo-Markin reiterated.
