Ashanti Regional Police Arrest Three in Connection with Mobile Money Vendor Murders

KUMASI – The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the region.

The first incident occurred on February 13, 2025, in Krofrom, where Patricia Nimako was tragically killed in broad daylight, and an undisclosed sum of money was stolen. The second attack took place on March 10, 2025, in Kwadaso, where Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also known as “Junior,” was robbed and murdered at his residence.

The suspects, identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as “Kwame Charles” or “Miami,” Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42, were apprehended on March 21, 2025, at Pankrono and Atimatim. Police say they remain in custody and will soon face prosecution.

Authorities are still searching for a fourth suspect, identified as Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah alias “Baba Macho.” He is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Diaso, or Accra.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has called on the public to assist in locating Amoah, urging anyone with information to contact the police via toll-free numbers 191 or 112 (18555 for MTN and Telecel users).

The police have assured the public of their commitment to bringing all responsible individuals to justice and have encouraged vigilance in combating crime.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, signed the official statement.
