The probe, announced by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng on February 12, will focus on suspected corruption and related offenses involving funds misappropriated from the UPPF, which is meant to stabilize petroleum prices nationwide.
The investigation is primarily targeting four individuals: Jacob Amoah, Coordinator of the UPPF; Wendy Ashong Newman and Freda Tandoh, both NPA staff; and Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, former CEO of the NPA.
Agyebeng stated that the OSP has commenced investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses regarding the alleged embezzlement.
