ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO CONDUCT NKORANZA NORTH AND SOUTH DISTRICT LEVEL ELECTIONS AND BY-ELECTIONS FOR ELECTORAL AREAS IN MAY, 2025

Accra, Ghana“ March 12, 2025: The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced plans to conduct District Level Elections in Nkoranza North and South on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This follows the expiration of the term of Assembly and Unit Committee Members. The Commission will also hold By-Elections for vacant electoral areas due to the resignation or passing of some Assembly Members.

Aspiring candidates can obtain nomination forms free of charge from District Offices of the Electoral Commission or download them from the Commissions official website (www.ec.gov.gh).

Completed nomination forms must be submitted in quadruplicate by the candidate, proposer, or seconder. Candidates must also provide two recent passport-sized photographs with a red background. The submission period is from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Friday, April 4, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and again from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM daily.

For the District Level Elections, each candidates nomination must be endorsed by a proposer, a seconder, and eighteen (18) registered voters in the electoral area. For the Unit Committee Elections, the endorsement requires a proposer, a seconder, and eight (8) registered voters.

All inquiries regarding the elections should be directed to the Returning Officer at the District Office of the Electoral Commission.
