IMPOSITION OF CURFEW ON BAWKU MUNICIPALITY AND ITS ENVIRONS IN THE UPPER EAST REGION

The Minister of Interior has renewed the curfew hours for Bawku Municipality and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region, starting from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am, effective Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

The government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents to maintain calmness amidst challenges and promote peace through non-violent methods.

Furthermore, there is a complete prohibition on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon in these communities and nearby areas. Anyone found with such items will face arrest and prosecution.
