The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Nana Kwesi Andrews, has taken a hard stance against the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), criticizing its lack of tangible results nearly a year after launch.

Mr. Andrews lamented that despite ORAL’s high-profile mandate to retrieve misappropriated state assets, no single prosecution has been achieved, describing the situation as “deeply frustrating” to citizens seeking justice.

He referenced several unresolved cases — including the National Cathedral scandal, investigations involving former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, and allegations against Ashanti NPP Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako (Wontumi) — insisting that justice must be served without political bias.

Calling for specialized financial and anti-corruption courts, he urged the Attorney-General to accelerate case handling, warning that the slow pace of legal proceedings risks eroding public trust in the government’s anti-graft agenda.
