Presidency Announces Over GHS 3.5 Million Donated to Children's Support Fund Following National Tragedy

Accra, Ghana — The Office of the President has published an official list of donors who have contributed to the Children's Support Fund, established in the wake of the tragic helicopter crash on 6 August 2025.

In a statement released by the Presidency on Friday, 29th August 2025, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, confirmed that total donations now stand at GHS 3,576,600.00 and US$520,000.00.

The list of donors from 19 to 28 August 2025 includes a mix of corporate institutions and private individuals:

3. Peter Adongo
4. Mensah Michael
5. Appaul Wiredu Lateef
6. Samuel Hodalor
7. Daudis Idle
8. ARB Apex Bank PLC
9. STL Foundation
10. Olam Agric
11. Fidelity Bank Ghana
12. ADB Bank
13. GLICO General Insurance
14. National Insurance Commission

The Fund was created to ensure the welfare and long-term support of the children who lost parents in the devastating crash.

The statement provided details for continued public contributions, directing donors to specific Ghana Cedi and US Dollar accounts at Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited’s Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra. Cheques and bank drafts are to be made payable to "CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825."

Dr. Sawyerr confirmed that the Presidency will continue to publish a list of donors on a weekly basis to ensure transparency and public trust in the management of the fund.
