JHNews || Accra, September 16, 2025 — President John Dramani Mahama is set to officially launch his government’s ambitious “Big Push” infrastructure programme today in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region.

The initiative aims to fast-track Ghana’s infrastructure development, with the road sector being the first focus. Several roads that have been long-stalled or underfunded are expected to be rehabilitated and included in the programme’s initial phase.

Mahama stressed that the “Big Push” would not only revitalize roads but also boost the broader economy through construction, job creation, and improved access. He emphasized that the government has allocated funds—drawn from Ghana’s oil and gold revenues—to support these projects.

The launch ceremony is expected to draw policymakers, contractors, regional and local government officials, and development partners.
