Eight Charged for Violence During Ablekuma North Re-Run

JHNews || Accra, August 26, 2025 – The Accra Regional Police Command has charged eight men in connection with violent incidents that occurred during the Ablekuma North Parliamentary re-run election on July 11, 2025.
The accused – Mohammed Abubakari (32), Tijani Mahamudu (38), Prince Dzakpasu (39), Anas Mohammed (42), Mohammed Hamda (35), Darko Otibu Samuel (33), Musah Muntari (46), and Ali Saeed alias Bomba (43) – appeared before the Circuit Court in Accra on Tuesday.
Police said all eight pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit crime and assault, contrary to Sections 23(1) and 84 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The case has been adjourned to August 29, 2025, with each of the accused granted bail of GH¢80,000 with one surety.
