The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced significant tariff adjustments for the 2026–2030 period, with electricity tariffs set to rise by 9.86% and water tariffs by 15.92%, effective January 1, 2026.

The review follows the Commission’s Multi-Year Tariff Review Order (MYTO) process, which assessed investment needs, operational costs, inflation, exchange rate pressures, fuel cost fluctuations, and utility asset base requirements. Quarterly reviews will also continue throughout the five-year tariff cycle to maintain the real value of tariffs and support utility operations.

The Commission noted that the adjustments are necessary to ensure financial sustainability of utility providers while safeguarding consumer interests. The review also incorporated provisions for mini-grid electricity supply for island communities.
