Fire Outbreak at Adum PZ and Blue Light: Government Officials Pledge Support to Affected Traders

Earlier this afternoon, a high-powered government delegation, including the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, and the CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Madam Abigail Akwambea Mensah, engaged with leaders of the traders affected by the recent devastating fire outbreak at Adum PZ and Blue Light.

Representing His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the delegation expressed the President’s heartfelt sympathies to the victims and assured them of the government’s unwavering commitment to helping them recover and rebuild their businesses.

As part of immediate relief efforts, a donation of GHC 100,000 was made to support the most vulnerable traders while awaiting a full assessment and further intervention. Additionally, officials highlighted an earlier donation of GHC 500,000 from a generous philanthropist, specifically earmarked to assist students, widows, and single parents impacted by the disaster.

Both the Gender Minister and MASLOC CEO reassured the traders of their respective institutions' commitment to providing necessary support. They emphasized the importance of unity during such difficult times, reaffirming their dedication to ensuring the affected traders receive the assistance they need to regain stability.
