President Mahama has appointed Sammy Gyamfi as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).

Jh News: President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Sammy Gyamfi as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC). 

In this role, Mr. Gyamfi will oversee the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), a key initiative from the National Democratic Congress' 2024 manifesto. The GoldBod aims to sustainably manage and market Ghana's gold resources, formalize the small-scale gold mining sector, and provide essential support services to the mining industry. This initiative is part of the government's broader economic revitalization agenda and will operate under the guidance of the Minister for Finance. 

Mr. Gyamfi is a lawyer and Economic Policy Analyst with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Law from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He also holds a Barrister at Law certificate from the Ghana School of Law and a Master's degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School, having completed Executive Certificates in Emerging Leaders and Strategic Leadership Programmes. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Gyamfi served as the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress and has experience working with Exton Cubic Group Limited, a reputable mining company in Ghana.
